What is confetti in Diamond Painting? And color-blocking?

The million dollar question. What does it mean that a Diamond Painting has confetti? Will my canvas be full of colored papers? We are going to explain in a simple way how to differentiate between confetti and color-blocking on a canvas.

Confetti or color-blocking?

In Diamond Painting confetti refers to parts of the artwork that have many color changes in small sections. In the following image you can see a canvas that has a lot of confetti, meaning you are going to have to change the color you are using all the time.

Color-blocking is the opposite of confetti. They are parts of the illustration that have very few colors. In these sections it is best to use the multi-placer, since this way you will do them much faster. You can see an example right here below.

What is better, confetti or color-blocking?

Neither is better than the other! Almost all canvases have color-blocking and confetti sections. For us, the best thing is that the canvas is balanced, this way you will never get bored.

One of the advantages of confetti is that by constantly changing color the diamonds will be better aligned, since you will be more attentive and you will also be using the 1 point or the tweezers.

However, the advantage of color blocking is that it makes you go much faster in your diamond paintings.
